Twin Peaks References on "The Simpsons"...

I figured that anyone with the intelligence, cleverness, and wit to appreciate Twin Peaks also enjoys The Simpsons, like me. Twice so far (that I know of) The Simpsons, in their grand tradition of parodying movies, people, and other shows, has parodies Twin Peaks. Luckily for us Peakers, the Simpsons' writers have the superior wit to make these parodies not only accurate, but wickedly funny.
The first parody happened in the "Who Shot Mr. Burns? Part 2" episode, and is really ingenius. First of all, Chief Wiggum has a dream which seems to be cream induced (parodying Cooper's coffee?). He sees Lisa is in the Red Room, complete with red drapes and zigzag floor. Twin Peaks-ish music is also playing, and they even have that bird-like shadow float by on the drapes. Lisa speaks in backwards garble, a la LMFAP. Wiggum is eating a donut. Lisa says "Chief Wiggum, don't eat the clues." He looks down and his donut has turned into a playing card, which is on fire. She repeats "Look at Burns' suit" over and over as a clue for Wiggum in this messed up speech until she finally just screams it at him in plain English because he cannot understand her otherwise.

The second parody occurs in an episode from 1997, the season premier I believe, called "Lisa's Sax." Lisa is questioning her parents about when she got her first saxophone and why, and the episode consists of many flashbacks to when the kids were really young. One of these flashbacks goes to Twin Peaks time, and Homer is watching it on TV. We see Homer in their darkened living room. Shadows play on the wall and soft, jazz (Twin Peaks) music is playing. We hear a voice say, "that's some damn fine cherry pie you have here in Twin Peaks. And damn good coffee!" Then we see the TV screen, where a giant is dancing with a white horse in the woods under a traffic light. Homer says "Heh, heh. Brilliant. . .I don't understand a thing."
